Amber Hildebrandt was named an assistant coach in the spring of 2016. She joins the Musketeers after a one-year stint at Appalachian State.
In her first year with the Musketeers, Hildebrandt helped the Musketeers post a 20-13 overall record. Xavier placed second in the BIG EAST standings with a 13-5 mark and advanced to the conference tournament championships match.
Hildebrandt assisted in coaching Abbey Bessler and Sofia Peterson to All-BIG EAST First Team honors. Both players also picked up AVCA All-East Region First Team accolades.Â

During the 2015 season at Appalachian State, Hildebrandt helped the Mountaineers post a 22-8 overall record with a 13-3 mark in Sun Belt action. The team matched a program record with 16 consecutive wins during the season. Hildebrandt also helped coach four athletes to AVCA Southeast All-Region honors.

Prior to Appalachian State, Hildebrandt was a volunteer assistant coach at Oakland University (2014). The squad posted a 22-10 overall record – the school’s first 20-win season during Division I competition – while helping the team post a 12-2 record in conference play. The Golden Grizzlies also captured the Horizon League Regular-Season and Tournament Titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Hildebrandt was a four-year letterwinner at Oakland (2010-13), helping the squad record 68 wins during her playing career. She played in 200 sets during her career and earned all-conference academic honors twice.

The Lake Zurich, Ill., native earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Oakland in 2013.

She resides in Cincinnati with her husband, Mitch Hildebrandt, who is the starting  goalkeeper on FC Cincinnati.Â
