
XU Falls 6-0 to Florida Atlantic

MIAMI - Florida Atlantic scored three goals in both the first and second halves and XU was unable to answer as the Xavier University men's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision to the Owls on Friday evening in the first game of the Florida International Diadora Classic in Miami, Fla. With the loss, XU drops to 1-2-1 on the year while FAU improves to 2-4.
Junior goalkeeper Liam Curran gave up his first goal of the season at the 7:10 mark when Javier Carillo snuck one into the right-hand corner past a diving Curran. Curran's scoreless streak ended at 242:10 minutes as XU's net-minder suffered his first loss of the season. He is now 1-1-1 on the year.
Carillo would add two more goals on the evening for his first career hat-trick.
FAU held a 15-to-7 advantage in shots but XU attempted seven corner kicks to the Owls' three.
The Musketeers are back in action on Sunday, September 16 when they take on host Florida International at 2:00 p.m.
