Xavier Women's Soccer Team Falls At Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. --- The Xavier women’s soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to the Atlantic 10 Conference-leading Charlotte 49ers on Sunday in Charlotte, N.C. The Musketeers will finish the 2008 season next weekend with a pair of home games.

Charlotte got goals from five different players on its way to winning its ninth conference match without a loss or tie. Whitney Weinraub scored the first Charlotte goal 19:54 into the match to put the 49ers up 1-0. It proved to be all the home team needed.

Charlotte used three goalkeepers, who combined for three saves in a shutout effort.

Charlotte raised its records to 9-0 in the Atlantic 10 Conference and 13-3-1 overall, while Xavier fell to 0-7-2 in the A-10 and 1-14-2 overall.

Xavier closes out the 2008 season with home matches against La Salle on Friday and Fordham next Sunday.
