CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University women's soccer team dropped a 5-1 decision to No. 14 Oklahoma State on Sunday afternoon at the Xavier University Soccer Complex. The loss drops the Musketeers to 0-5 on the season while Oklahoma State stays perfect at 6-0.
Oklahoma State dominated the first half as evidenced by a 4-0 halftime lead and a 10-1 advantage in shots taken. OSU scored twice in the game's 12th minute, first by Annika Niemeier at 11:12 and then by Yolanda Odenyo at 11:49. It proved to be all the scoring the visitors would need but that didn't stop Siera Stawser from tacking on three more goals to account for the rest of the Cowgirl scoring.
Xavier's lone goal came in the 89th minute as freshman Jessica Brooks scored her second career goal off an assist from sophomore Kaitlyn McGoldrick.
Xavier's next match is this Friday at Ohio University at 4 p.m.
