
Musketeers Finish Second At House Of Champions

INDIANAPOLIS -- It was a successful trip to Indianapolis for the Xavier swim team as both the men's and women's contingent placed second at the House Of Champions meet. The men totaled 701 points and the Musketeer women earned 568.5 points. Ball State took top honors in both men's and women's action.
Among the highlights were the XU men's team of Terence Mahon, Andrew Viglione, Michael Zennedjian, and Nathan Green first place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Sam Conchuratt took third in the 200 butterfly, Green was tops in the 100 freestyle, and freshman Chad Thompson took first in the 200 yard backstroke.
In women's action highlights included senior Kari Peglar earning first in the 200 yard backstroke, and Musketeers Courtney Cox and Claire McKay took first and second respectively in the 1,650 freestyle. The Musketeer women took second in the 800 freestyle relay and senior Bethany Griffin earned second in the 50 yard freestyle.
The House of Champions meet was the Musketeers' first non head-to-head competition of the 2010-11 season.
The Musketeers will take a break before hitting the road again on December 3 to compete in the Akron Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
