
Musketeers Start Strong At Zippy Invitational

AKRON, Ohio -- The Xavier swim team sits in third place after the first day of the Akron Zippy Invitational Friday. The Musketeer men are in second place while the women sit in seventh. Xavier will continue the Zippy Invitational throughout the weekend.
In the men's 200 freestyle relay A final the team of senior Nathan Green, sophomore Pablo Morejon, freshman John Kinney, and senior Terence Mahon took first place with a time of 1:23.68. Green followed with a first place finish in the 500 yard freestyle A final with a time of 4:40.77. Sophomore Cliff Robbins also earned a first place finish in the 500 freestyle C final.
Mary Podlaski earned a second place finish in the women's 200 individual medley C final competition.
In the men's 200 IM, Xavier took first in two heats. Michael Zennedjian took first in the A final, and Chad Thompson took first in the B final.
The Musketeer men and women will continue competition at the Zippy Invitational Saturday.
