
Xavier Men Defeat Charlotte 6-1

CINCINNATI -- The Xavier men's tennis team got back in the win column Friday with a 6-1 victory over Atlantic 10 foe Charlotte. Xavier took two of three doubles matches and five of the six singles wins on the day.
Chris Herrlinger earned a 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 win over Moritz Bernhoerster at No. 1 singles. Richard Canelas also earned a three-set win at No. 2.
Patrick Bandy defeated Michael Anders 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3, Brandon MacDonald earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5, and Brian Starr posted a tough win at No. 6.
The regionally ranked duo of Starr and Anthony Palmenter earned an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles while Marc Pretorius and JT Torbeck earned a win at No. 3.
With the win, the Musketeers improve to 9-6 overall and 2-1 in the A-10. Charlotte falls to 4-9 on the year and 3-2 in the conference. Xavier hosts St. Bonaventure March 19.
