
Xavier Men Suffer 5-2 Setback At Western Michigan

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Xavier men's tennis team fell to 11-7 overall as they lost a 5-2 decision at Western Michigan Sunday afternoon.
"Doubles could have been a little better, but in singles we were very good top to bottom," said Men's Assistant Coach Rudy Vliegenberg. "Western Michigan is a good team and were just a little better than us today. We look forward to some time off before getting into the last month of the regular season."
Bobby Deye and Brandon MacDonald each won their second singles match in a row Sunday. Deye won in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4),when he took down Simon Blomberg at No. 4.
MacDonald defeated Brad Noel 6-3, 7-5 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play the duo of JT Torbeck and Marc Pretorius defeated Michael Basha and Brad Noel 8-5 at No. 3.
Xavier returns to action April 6 as they host Atlantic 10 rival Dayton at 1 p.m.
