Musketeer Swimmers Post Strong Showing At IUPUI

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Musketeers placed first in both the men's and women's 3x100 backstroke relay at the House of Champions Relay hosted by IUPUI Monday afternoon. The XU women's team of Grace Raynor, Jenny Martin, and Holly Hoover posted a time of 3:06.91 in the event.
On the men's side David Maxwell, Joseph O'Hara, and Chad Thompson were tops with a time of 2:38.07. XU took first in the 800 yard relay with Nathan Green, Michael Zennedjian, David Gordon, and Terence Mahon posting a time of 7:11.07. The Musketeers also took second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:30.30.
The Xavier women had a strong showing as they earned first place finishes in three events. Besides the 3x100 backstroke relay, the Musketeer women brought home top honors in 800 and 200 freestyle relays. Raynor, Olivia Wilkes, Anne Frigo, and Kari Peglar posted took the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.17. Wilkes, Peglar, Lynn Brotherton, and Mary Podlaski earned their 800 freestyle victory with a time of 8:01.01
The Musketeers will be back in action Sunday, January 23 as they return to Indianapolis to compete against Butler University.
