UK Hands XU A 15-2 Loss

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Xavier baseball team dropped a 15-2 decision at Kentucky Tuesday night. With the loss the Musketeers fell to 16-14 on the season.
Redshirt freshman Vinny Nittoli was tagged with the loss and fell to 3-1 on the season. UK starter Jordan Cooper earned the win for the Wildcats in five innings of action.
UK jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Xavier managed to score a run in the top of the second inning on a solo home run by senior Phil Bauer. The Musketeers struck again in the next inning when senior Ben Thomas plated fellow senior John McCambridge with an RBI single. It was not enough though as UK extended its lead and held on for the win.
Xavier returns to action tomorrow as they travel to face Ohio at 6 p.m. in Athens, Ohio.
