Xavier Sweeps Wright State in Home Opener

CINCINNATI - The Xavier volleyball team swept the Wright State Raiders in the home opener at Cintas Center on Tuesday evening 25-17, 25-18, 25-20. Red-shirt sophomore Alex Smith recorded a season-high 10 kills to lead the Musketeers.
With the win, Xavier improves to 8-5 on the season, while Wright State falls to 2-11.
Smith led the match in attack percentage at .529 (10-1-17). The Saint Louis, Mo., native also assisted on two blocks. Sophomore Sarah Brown was one kill shy of her third double-double of the season, recording nine kills and getting under 14 digs.
Junior Stephanie Vorherr led the match with 23 digs, while freshman Aubree Smith recorded a match-best 35 assists.
