
Smith and Brown Lead Musketeers in Sweep of VCU

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Xavier Musketeers (4-1) earned another win at the Maryland Invite, sweeping the VCU Rams (1-4) in three straight sets 25-20, 25-20, 25-14. Xavier was led by freshman setter Aubree Smith and sophomore outside hitter Sarah Brown.
Smith had a match high and career best 38 assists to go with a career high five service aces, four kills and five digs. Brown was a monstrous threat at the net, notching a match high and career best 17 kills. The sophomore had the best attack percentage on the squad at .538 (17-3-26).
Juniors Stephanie Vorherr and Kaleigh Rougraff each got under 10 digs to lead the team. Red-shirt sophomore Alex Smith added seven kills.
VCU was led by Kristen Boyd who had a match best 12 kill for a .370 attack percentage. Cecilia Aragao added 19 assists while Amanda Love got under a match high 11 digs.
