INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Xavier men's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 win against Butler Wednesday. With the win, the Musketeers improved to 4-6 on the season while Butler fell to 0-10.
"A great victory today," said head coach Eric Toth. "Butler is always tough in their bubble. When sets or matches were ready to turn one way or another we just seemed to win more of the important points. It is nice to show improvement in an area that we have talked a lot about and worked a lot on in practice."
Xavier swept all matches in doubles and singles play.
Jimmy Roebker posted a 7-6, 6-2 win over Ausitn Woldmoe at No. 1 singles, Mesa Mei topped Tommy Marx 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2, and Richard Canelas took home a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3.
Junior Brandon MacDonald earned a dominating win at No. 4, and Michael Moe and Marc Pretorius brought home wins at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively.
