No. RV/24 Musketeers Draw Villanova in Wild Double Overtime Affair, 2-2
10.15.16 | Men's Soccer
Xavier fired a season-high 30 shots, coming back from one goal deficits twice
CINCINNATI – No. RV/24 Xavier men's soccer unleashed a season-high 30 shots, coming back from one-goal deficits twice but the Musketeers couldn't find the go-ahead goal in a 2-2 draw against visiting Villanova on Saturday at UC's Gettler Stadium.
Xavier dominated the run of play for nearly the entire match, including a 6-0 edge in shots during the second overtime, but missed agonizingly close opportunites on several occasions.
With the result, XU moves its season-high unbeaten streak to four straight matches and its overall record to 7-3-3 (3-1-1 BIG EAST).
Villanova is now 6-5-2 (2-2-1 BIG EAST).
The match also served as "Senior Day" as the four-man graduating class of Jalen Brown, Todd Pratzner, Jake Ciricillo and Majed Osman were honored prior to first kick. More information to come on another decorated senior class for the Musketeers.
• 10' | Villanova | Lucas Hodges finished off a header from directly in front of the goal, going right post off a pair of passes in the box to give 'Nova a 1-0 lead.

• 72' | Xavier | Jalen Brown launched a laser from the top of the box, beating Will Steiner to the right off a pass from Majed Osman.
• Xavier saw a three-match shutout streak snapped with Villanova's score at the 9:07 mark. It was the first goal allowed by XU since a golden goal at Providence on Oct. 1.
• The Musketeers are now 5-0-2 at "home" this season, despite playing six of those seven matches away from Xavier Soccer Complex due to ongoing field repairs.
• Colin Hanley and Jake Ciricillo split time in net, combining for three saves and two goals allowed. Hanley's GAA is now 0.63 for the season.
