Venue Change Announced for Puerto Rico Classic

Women’s basketball will now play the tournament in Las Vegas on Dec. 19-21
CINCINNATI - Sports Tours International has announced that the 2016 Puerto Rico Classic has been moved from San Juan to Las Vegas. Tournament officials moved the tournament due to concerns over the risk of the Zika outbreak in Puerto Rico.

"This is not an easy decision for us in light of our decades of relationships with our Puerto Rican partners," said Sport Tours President Lee Frederick. "However, we understand it is what the universities want at this time. The strength of our relationships in Daytona Beach and Las Vegas has allowed us to make the changes smoothly. We look forward to returning to San Juan in 2017 and beyond."

Sports Tours International also moved the 2016 San Juan Shootout to Dayton Beach, Fla.

Xavier's tournament schedule remains the same with the tournament being played at the South Point Arena on Las Vegas Boulevard on Dec. 19-21. Game times will be adjusted to accommodate a previously schedule event in the arena.

The Musketeers are slated to face Oklahoma, Southern Miss and Kennesaw State over the span of three days.
