Xavier Women Remain 3rd, Men 2nd at Magnus Cup

Caroline Gaertner sets NCAA B-Cut time in 100 back
CLEVELANDÂ - With one day of competition remaining, Xavier's women remain in third place of 14 team, and the men second of nine, at the CSU Magnus Cup. The final day of competition begins tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

 WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS |
- Caroline Gaertner became the second women in Xavier history to set an NCAA B-Cut time, hitting the standard and setting a new school record in the 100 back. Gaertner joins teammate Paxtyn Drew who hit the B-Cut standard for the 100 back and 200 back at last year's BIG EAST Championship.
- Gaertner also set a new school record during prelims with a time of 54.55 in the 100 fly, a time that was just .06 off the NCAA B-Cut standard. In finals for the event, she finished third with a time of 54.61.
- Xavier's women are in third place of 14 teams with 566 points.

 MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS |
- Sam Johanns took the top spot in teh 100 back with a time of 50.33. Johanns was one of three Musketeers in the A Final, with Nathan Runyon and Arthur Smith also qualifiying. David Bunnell and Chase Baldwin were the top two finishers in the B Final.
- Alex Wolfred qualified first in the 200 free with at time of 1:42.13 before finishing fifth in the A Final heat.
- Xavier stands in second place, trailing only host Cleveland State with 824.5Â points.
