Xavier Student-Athletes Participate in Adopt-A-Family Program

CINCINNATI - For a second straight year, Xavier's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) partnered with the 'Adopt-A-Family' program through the Hamilton County Department of Job and Family Services to bring some holiday cheer to local families.
SAAC led the initiative, which was able to get 100% participation this year with a donation coming from at least one person on each XU team. Coaches, administrators and other staff also contributed to the cause, which raised nearly $1,500.
"I am so proud of our student-athletes for making our second year of working with adopt a family a success," said Stephanie Hurley, XU Academic Advisor and Life Skills Coordinator. "We were able to get everything on the list that each kid wanted. This wouldn't have been possible if it wasn't for the hard work from the student-athletes and their willingness to donate to such an amazing program."
With the money, Xavier student-athletes were able to help four different families totaling 10 kids.
