Three Musketeers Named to OCSA Division I All-Ohio Team

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - Three Xavier men's soccer players were named to the 2016 Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association (OCSA) All-Ohio NCAA Men's Division I Team on Tuesday. Cory Brown and Jalen Brown were both selected for first team honors, while Matt Nance earned a spot on the third team.
The program's second BIG EAST Defender of the Year, Cory Brown started all 19 matches for XU in 2016. He registered three points (one goal, one assist) and played every available minute in 17 of 19 matches. XU's defense posted five shutouts as Brown ranked second on the team with 1,771 minutes played. For his career, Brown has made 60 starts and helped XU post two of the top three team GAA's in program history (2014, 2015). During his three seasons manning the center back position, XU has posted 25 shutouts (including a program-record 11 in 2014).
One of Xavier's top offensive threats, Jalen Brown recorded several career-bests in 2016, including starts (19), goals (6), assists (3), shots (46) and shots on goal (20). He led the team in goals and ranked second with 15 points, 46 shots and 20 shots on goal. A workhorse up top, Brown ranked fifth on team with 1,524 minutes played.
Nance, also an All-BIG EAST Second Team selection, made 19 starts on the year providing steady defense and excelling at playing forward in the attack as well. The junior from Washington, Mich. tied for third on the team with 10 points this season, recording three goals and four assists.
