CINCINNATI – Xavier Women's Basketball is scheduled to host its Play4Kay Pink Game on Friday, Feb. 19 at Cintas Center against St. John's. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
The first 250 fans in attendance will receive a tote bag giveaway courtesy of TriHealth and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
Xavier would like to honor breast cancer survivors for their strength, courage and determination. Survivors can register to be recognized during the game and may request two complimentary tickets to the game by completing this form.
Xavier Athletics has partnered with the American Cancer Society: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer movement this year to spread awareness and participate in the initiative to fight breast cancer. The American Cancer Society will be present at the game raffling off baskets and accepting donations to support their cause.
The Play 4Kay initiative, named after former North Carolina State University coach Kay Yow, is an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for women's cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has helped the Kay Yow Cancer Fund support $5.18 million in women's cancer research and related projects. The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.
