Musketeers return to BIG EAST action this weekend, playing St. John's in a three-game set at home

CINCINNATI, Ohio – Xavier baseball couldn't get much going on offense in a midweek loss against Indiana, falling 8-0 at Hayden Field on Wednesday.

The Musketeers dropped to 14-25 overall, while the Hoosiers improved to 21-14.

XU AT THE PLATE

· Xavier was limited to four hits, two of which were collected by Rylan Bannon (2-for-4).
· Bannon has now reached base safely in 16 of his last 17 games.
· Will LaRue (1-for-4) and Ethan Schmidt (1-for-3) also added hits for the Musketeers.

XU ON THE MOUND

· Trent Astle (1-4) cruised through his first three innings, striking out three before running into trouble after a two out error in the fourth. The junior lefty finished his outing with five runs allowed, although none were earned.
· Greg Jacknewitz pitched two innings in relief, striking out one and allowing one earned run.
· Garrett Schilling worked around a hit in a scoreless seventh.
· Sam Czabala and Jason Hall closed things out, each pitching an inning and allowing one earned run.

· Xavier gets back to BIG EAST play this weekend, hosting St. John's for a three-game series at Hayden Field. First pitch in the series is set for Friday, April 22 at 3 p.m. and will be nationally televised on FOX Sports Atlantic.
