CINCINNATI – Xavier swimming has released its upcoming 2016-17 schedule, opening the season on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Butler Quad Meet in Fishers, Ind.

Meet Info: Saturday, Oct. 8 - O'Connor Sports Center, Cincinnati, Ohio
Notable:
· The Musketeers will face off with alumni in the only exhibition meet of the season.
at West Virginia (Big 12 vs. BIG EAST Weekend)
Meet Info: Friday, Oct. 14- Saturday, Oct. 15 - Morgantown, W.Va.
Notable:
· Conference-mates Seton Hall and Butler will join the Musketeers at the Big 12 vs. BIG East Weekend for a second-straight year.
· Last season, the women went 2-1 over the two day event, topping Butler and Seton Hall while falling to WVU. The men split the weekend, beating SHU and falling to West Virginia.
at Louisville
Meet Info: Friday, Oct. 21 - Louisville, Ky.
Notable:
· The Cardinal women return two Olympic time trial qualifiers, Mallory Comerford and Andrea Cottrell.
· Both squads fell against Louisville last season.

Meet Info: Saturday, Oct. 22 - Oxford, Ohio
Notable:
· Katie Kerr, Jenna Wilkes and Taylor Jach took three of the top five spots in the women's 1,000 free as the Musketeers fell to the Redhawks last season.
· Rodrigo Suriano took the top spot in the 100 free, second place in the 50 free and swam the backstroke leg of the gold-medal winning 400 medley relay as Xavier's men fell at Miami last year.
vs. Bowling Green
Meet Info: Friday, Oct. 28 - O'Connor Sports Center - Cincinnati, Ohio
Notable:
· Xavier last faced off with the Falcons in 2013, when the Musketeers hosted a women's dual meet at O'Connor Sports Center.
· The meet with Bowling Green marks the Musketeers' first home meet against outside competition of the season.
at Cleveland State
Meet Info: Saturday, Oct. 29 – Cleveland, Ohio
Notable:
· The Musketeers last met CSU in a dual meet at UC last season, where the Xavier women topped the Vikings 184 to 109, while the men fell 163-124.
· The meet marks the first of two trips to CSU this season for Xavier, including the CSU Magnus Cup.

Meet Info: Saturday Nov. 5 - Granville, Ohio
Notable:
· Last season Xavier collected 13 total first place finishes against the Big Red.
· The men took home the 158-104 win last year while the women fell 157-105.

Notable:
· The Xavier women placed third of 10 teams while the men took second of six.
· Katie Kerr set a new school record in the 500 free, taking first with a time of 4:55.17.
· A pair of Musketeers collected first place finishes. Erik Biernat won the 100 IM in a time of 52.31 and Knox Hitt won the 50 fly in a time 22.39.
at U.S. Nationals (Qualifiers only)
Meet Info: Thursday, Dec. 1 - Saturday, Dec. 3 - Atlanta, Ga.
Notable:
· Returner Rob Van Kirk competed in the 200 meter breaststroke at last year's event in Federal Way, Wash., posting a time of 2:26.05, among the top 60 times among the top swimmers in the United States.
· 2016 graduate Luke Johanns competed in a pair of events last season, competing against national team members in the 50 free and 100 free.
· Former XU swimmer Armando Moss also competed in the 50 meter freestyle at last year's event.
at IUPUI
Meet Info: Friday, Jan. 6 - Indianapolis, Ind.
Notable:
· Xavier faced off with IUPUI last season, with the Jags also hosting Ball State. The Musketeers swept the Cardinals while the women also picked up a win over IUPUI.
· The Xavier women dominated the distance events, taking the top three spots in both the 500 and 1000 free, two of the Musketeer women's six event wins.
· Chase Baldwin's time of 1:55.55 took first for the Musketeers in the 200 back.
at Ohio with Duquesne (Women Only)
Meet Info: Saturday, Jan. 21 - Athens, Ohio
Notable:
· Last season, the trio of women's squads faced off on the campus of Duquesne in Pittsburgh, with the Musketeers falling to both the Bobcats and the Dukes.
· Katie Kerr took the top spot in the 500 free with a time of 5:06.47.

Meet Info: Sunday, Jan. 22 - Fishers, Ind.
Notable:
· The Musketeers will face St. Louis, SIU, Bellarmine, Ball State as well as host Butler.
· The Xavier women took the top spot in last year's event, winning seven events overall, including a pair of wins for Paxtyn Drew (200 free, 200 back) and wins by Hanna Martin (200 breast), Caroline Gaertner (100 fly) and Becca Titterton (100 IM).
· Xavier's men took second place, coming in ahead of Ball State, Souther Illinois and Bellarmine after picking up a pair of wins in the 200 back (Chase Baldwin - 1:54.28) and the 400 free relay (Luke Johanns, Matt Nephew, Sam Johanns and Rodrigo Suriano - 3:07.90).

Meet Info: Saturday, Jan. 28 - O'Connor Sports Center, Cincinnati, Ohio
Notable:
· The Musketeers will celebrate Senior Day during the meet with Wright State, Xavier's final home meet of the season, and final meet before the conference championships.
· Last season, in Dayton, the Musketeer women won four events, including a pair of wins by Caroline Gaertner (100 back, 200 back) as Xavier was narrowly defeated by the Raiders, 136-123. The Xavier men fell 182-80.
at BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIPS
Meet Info: Wednesday, Feb. 22 - Saturday, Feb. 25 - Nassau, N.Y.
Notable:
· Last season, the Xavier men won a third consecutive BIG EAST Championship, winning eight individual events and four relays, scoring 832 to 781 points for second place Georgetown.
· Xavier's men had 12 All-BIG EAST Honorees, including Luke Johanns, Knox Hitt and Michael Pettinichi who each set an NCAA B-Cut time during the championship.
· The Xavier women finished third in last year's championship, building over 100 point lead on fourth-place Seton Hall.
· Paxtyn Drew set a pair of NCAA B-Cut times during the event, in the 100 back (55.09) and 200 back (1:59.16).
· 11 Xavier women earned All-BIG EAST honors.
