Women's Soccer Clinches First Ever Bid to BIG EAST Championship with 2-1 Win Over Seton Hall

Schembri scores sixth in first half, Doss picks up the game-winner late in the second
Xavier took lead early and held the lead into the break. The Pirates got the goal back midway through the second period but a goal for Tori Doss in the final 15 minutes sealed the win for the Musketeers.

28' | XAVIER | Off a free kick from Addie Englehart, Abby O'Keefe used a header to pass across the box to Sydney Schembri. Schembri shot from just outside the six-yard box to the upper right corner to put the Musketeers up 1-0.
67' | SETON HALL | After the Musketeers took the lead into the break, Seton Hall's Lauren Hall scored the equalizer midway through the second, shooting from straight on, just outside the penalty box to the left corner.
77' | XAVIER | Off a throw in, Abby O'Keefe, on the right side of the box, popped the ball over the defender to Tori Doss. Doss caught the SHU goalkeeper off the line and buried the ball for the game-winner.

- Xavier moved to 8-5-4 overall and 4-1-2 in BIG EAST play. The result marks a new program-best win total since joining the BIG EAST, and brings to the program-best BIG EAST point total to 14, standing in third in the conference behind Georgetown and Butler.
- Xavier's win, combined with other results from around the league, guaranteed that the Musketeers will finish in the top six in the league standings, securing a position in the BIG EAST Championship for the first time in program history. The BIG EAST Championship appearance is the first for the program since 2003.
- The 4-1-2 mark in the BIG EAST marks the best start to conference play since 2000, when the Musketeers started Atlantic 10 play at 7-1. The 2000 Musketeers won seven straight after falling to Dayton in the A10 opener before finishing 8-1-1 in conference play.
- Xavier moved to 3-1-1 all time against Seton Hall.
- The Musketeers moved to 7-2-3 at home on the season.
- Sydney Schembri's goal was her sixth of the season, adding to her team high in tallies and points (12).
- Tori Doss picked up her fourth tally of the season and the 17th of her career. Her point total for the season comes to 10, standing behind only Schembri.
- Schembri and Doss' tallies were each the third in BIG EAST play to lead Xavier. Doss leads the Musketeers with seven points in conference play.
- Abby O'Keefe picked up the assist on both of the Musketeers' goals, marking her first two points of her Xavier career.
- Xavier held a 11-7 advantage on shots. with five looks coming on-frame for each team. Schembri and Doss each tallied a pair of looks on frame.
- Toni Bizzarro collected four saves with one goal against. She moves to 8-5-3 on the season.
- Addie Englehart, Maddie Tierney and Carly Alfano played the full 90 minutes on the Xavier backline.
- Skylar Groth and Andie Kennard also played the full time for the Musketeers.
