Fitzpatrick Shoots 1-Under 71 to Move into Fourth, Women's Golf Up to Seventh at Palmetto Intercollegiate

Sophomore moves up three spots into fourth-place as an individual
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Mikayla Fitzpatrick shot a 1-under score of 71 to vault into fourth position on day two at the Palmetto Intercollegiate on Monday at Turtle Point Golf Course. Xavier moved up two spots as a team, entering seventh place with 18 holes to play on Tuesday morning.
Fitzpatrick is even on par 4's and tied for second in the field with an aggregate score of 3-under on par 5's. The sophomore is only two strokes outside of first-place in the field.
Fitzpatrick posted a team-best five birdies on the day, shooting below par for the second time this fall.
Diane Lim of Ole Miss and Shelby Brauckmuller are tied atop the individual leaderboard at 2-under par.
XU freshman Andie Shukow shot up 14 spots today, posting a 74 (+2) with two birdies to move into a tie for 19th.
Senior Grace Howie carded a 73 (+1) to rocket up 36 spots into a tie for 30th position with a 1-under back nine performance.
Mikayla Smith (+8) and Amy Kucera (+16) rounded out the team scoring for the Musketeers.

Xavier moved up two spots into seventh place, shooting 10 strokes better on day two with a team score of 298. The Musketeers are 30-over after 36 holes and are just six shots outside of fourth place. Kennesaw State leads the pack at 14-over, but Ole Miss (+15) and Marshall (+16) are close behind.
Xavier finishes out its final fall tournament on Tuesday morning, playing one final round of 18 holes beginning with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
