Britton Earns All-BIG EAST Honors, Xavier Concludes BIG EAST Championship Action

The senior runner placed eighth, the highest finish for a Xavier runner since joining the BIG EAST in 2013
KENOSHA, Wis. - Xavier cross country wrapped up action at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 28. The meet was held at the Wayne Dennehl National Course.
The Xavier women placed fifth, while the men took eighth. The women's 6K race had 89 runners and the men's 8K race had 85 participants.Â

• Senior Madeline Britton's eighth-place finish is the highest finish for a Musketeer since joining the BIG EAST in 2013. The Bay Village, Ohio, native also earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors, the first Musketeer to earn the honors in cross country during BIG EAST action. Britton earns all-conference honors in cross country for the second time in her career as she picked up the accolades at the 2015 championships (18th place).
• Jenna Clayworth's finish was the second-best performance for a Xavier freshman since joining the BIG EAST. Caroline Gosser finished 16th at the 2015 conference championships.Â
