Women's Golf Wraps Day One at Xavier Invitational with Five in Top 20

Musketeers in position to make Day 2 charge down in Florida
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Â Â Five individuals are in the top-20 for women's golf after day one at the Xavier Invitational at the LPGA International on the Hills Course.
The Musketeers (312) are alone in fourth place after the first round, thanks to three sub-80 rounds from freshman Andie Shukow (+5, 77), freshman Ke'Asha Phillips (+5, 77), and sophomore Mikayla Fitzpatrick (+6, 78).Â
Shukow carded two birdies and 10 pars on her way to a 5-over round and is tied for 14th.
Phillips led the team with 12 pars and rolled in one birdie to put herself in a tie for 14th.
Fitzpatrick tied for the team lead with two birdies and carded 10 pars to put her at a 6-over tie for 20th.
Junior Mikayla Smith had a strong day with an 8-over round to place her inside the top-25.
Senior Lindsey Murray started off by birdieing the first hole to shoot a 13-over 85, just inside the top 40.
All three of Xavier's individual golfers carded first round scores in the 70s. Freshman Morgan Tinsley (+4, 76) tied for the team lead with two birdies and was second on the team with 11 pars. Senior Gracie Howie continued her strong play with 11 pars and one birdie to post a 6-over 78 and a tie for 20th. Freshman Amy Kucera also rolled in a birdie and nine pars to shoot a 7-over 79.Â
