Gray Posts First Career Double-Double in Road Loss at Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS - Freshman A'riana Gray posted her first career double-double in a 74-62 road loss at Minnesota on Wednesday night. The forward finished with 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

The Musketeers moved to 3-1 on the year, while the Golden Gophers improved to 5-0.

• The first quarter had four ties and five lead changes before the Musketeers closed the frame on an 8-0 run, taking a 22-16 advantage. A Deja Ross basket with 33 seconds left in the half gave the Musketeers a 40-32 advantage at intermission. All told, the first half had four ties and seven lead changes.

• Na'Teshia Owens led Xavier at the break with eight points, while A'riana Gray paced the team on the glass with five rebounds. Both teams had 21 rebounds at intermission.

• Xavier scored three unanswered points to open the second half and take their largest lead of the game, 43-32.The Golden Gophers responded by using a 16-4 run to take their first lead since the 7:50 mark in the second quarter.
