Musketeers will wrap up weekend series on Sunday at 1 p.m.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Xavier baseball dropped game two of a weekend series against Charlotte, 7-1, at Hayes Field on Saturday.
The Musketeers drop to 4-6 overall with the setback and will look to salvage a win in the series finale on Sunday at 1 p.m. with Greg Jacknewitz on the bump.
Charlotte improved to 9-2 with the win, the team's seventh straight.

• Mitch Gallagher went 1-for-3, knocking in Xavier's lone run on a fielder's choice. He's now 3-for-7 in the series (.444).
• Joe Gellenbeck (1-for-4), Conor Grammes (1-for-3, BB), Nate Soria (1-for-4) and Blaine Griffiths (1-for-4) also had hits for Xavier.
• Nate Monastra walked and scored XU's lone run in the fifth inning.

• Garrett Schilling lasted four innings, getting tagged for six earned runs and eight hits while striking out three.
• Trey Schramm made his longest outing of the young season in relief, going three full innings and limiting the 49ers to just one hit. The sophomore righty also struck out two.
• Sully Stadler finished out the game, allowing a run on three hits in the ninth.
