Project is targeted for completion prior to the fall sport seasons
CINCINNATI --- Construction is underway on the new TriHealth Sports Medicine Center in Cintas Center. This 5,550-square foot space utilizes the area of the old training room and the 2,500-square foot space left vacant by the old weight room. The new, expanded weight room at Cintas Center has been in use since last fall.
"This is the next major project that will allow us to improve the experience for our student-athletes," said Xavier University Director of Athletics Greg Christopher. "The sports medicine improvements and expansion are possible because of the support of our partners at TriHealth and Beacon. With the completion of the sports medicine area, we will have completely revamped our student-athlete service areas in the first two years of this Cintas Center renovation. A new academic center, new weight room and now a new athletic training room give our 300 student-athletes the best possible resources to be successful."
Thanks to the generosity of TriHealth, the new training room will feature a new hydrotherapy suite including two Hydroworx Pools in addition to 1,400 square feet of therapy space with equipment that includes a new Alter G anti-gravity treadmill and Cybex equipment. In addition there will be two private doctor suites for student-athlete consultation with our team doctors, dedicated areas for treatment and taping and expanded office space.
