Simen Hestnes Earns Spot on BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for Men's Soccer

Junior midfielder put up three points in men's soccer road win at No. 22 Boston College last week
NEW YORK – Men's soccer junior midfielder Simen Hestnes was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday for his efforts in the Musketeers' come-from-behind road victory at No. 22 Boston College last Monday.
Hestnes, the 2016 NEC Player of the Year, has been an impact transfer for XU since coming over from LIU Brooklyn in the offseason and earns his first weekly award from the conference. The Oslo, Norway native scored Xavier's first goal and assisted on the equalizer as the Musketeers won 3-2 against BC after falling behind 2-0 in the first half. It was his second-straight multi-point match following a two-goal outing against Harvard the week prior.
For the season, Hestnes leads XU with eight points (3g, 2a) and nine shots on goal. He is also tied for the team lead with 15 shots.
Men's soccer (3-1-1) is back in action on Tuesday night, hosting Cleveland State at XU Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
