KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Cam Taylor was named the United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week on Tuesday, marking the first national honor for the XU redshirt junior.
Taylor, who earned BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season on Monday, played the full match on Saturday and helped limit the Hoyas to just three shots on frame and just two corner kicks. He also scored the game-winning goal in the 44th minute of a 2-1 win over Cleveland State on Tuesday.
Taylor has now scored goals in two of three matches and is tied for the team lead with four tallies on the year.
Redshirt sophomore was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on Monday, giving XU two national honors after the team's overtime win over No. 9 Georgetown on Saturday.
