Junior Morgan Finn led Xavier with eight kills

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Xavier volleyball dropped a three-set match (15-25, 17-25, 21-25) at Villanova on Friday night at Jake Nevin Field House.

The Musketeers moved to 6-11 (1-3 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Wildcats improved to 8-6 (1-2 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Junior Morgan Finn led the team in kills (8) and hitting percentage (.312). The right-side hitter has had 18 kills in her last two matches and has recorded a team-high 37 kills in conference play this season.

• Xavier had two more blocks (5-3) than Villanova. Lauren Frilling led the Musketeers with four blocks, while adding four kills and two digs. Maya Krause chipped in three blocks and three kills.

• Freshman Moriah Hopkins had five kills and a .400 hitting percentage in two sets. Samantha Foti added three kills on the night.

• Meredith Klare posted a match-high 14 digs, while Samantha Foti recorded seven. Klare now has 66 digs in BIG EAST action, averaging 4.12 digs per set.

• Nadia Dieudonne and Mackenzi Humm both had 10 assists. Dieudonne added five digs.

• Xavier moved to 6-4 in the all-time series against the Wildcats.

• Villanova posted a .279 hitting percentage in the match and had nine more aces (9-0) than the Musketeers. Allie Loitz and Darcy Wolf combined to post 24 kills.
