02.14.18 | Women's Tennis
Cincinnati, OH – Senior Elizabeth Bagerbaseh was named women's tennis athlete of the week for her performance against Butler on Saturday, Feb. 10th.
Bagerbaseh is a senior graduate transfer from London, England. She joined the Musketeers this season after playing last season at the University of Central Florida and at Tyler Junior College the previous two seasons.
Since joining the Musketeers, Bagerbaseh has played No. 4 and No. 5 singles along with No. 2 or No. 3 doubles. Against Butler, she finished 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Lauren Marx and a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles with her partner Zoe Manion.
This honor comes after Bagerbaseh's first career BIG EAST match. Head Coach Doug Matthews commented on her play, "Lee has been a big boost for us this season. She has come right in and fit in great and done exactly what we have asked of her. She has gotten more accustomed to playing indoor tennis lately and is playing very well".
The senior transfer has been essential in the Musketeers three game winning streak as she has been victorious in all three matches. Elizabeth Bagerbaseh and the Musketeers will be in action again on Saturday, Feb. 17 against Princeton.
