Women's Golf Had a Successful Day One at Ball State Invitational

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla.—Xavier women's golf finished first and second round of action at the second-annual Ball State Sunshine Invitational on Friday evening. The Musketeers were led by remarkable performances from Grace Howie and Amy Kucera.

The two-day tournament is being scored via match play.

Redshirt senior Grace Howie had an impressive day on the green earning 11 points over two rounds.

Sophomore Mikayla Fitzpatrick had a successful first round with four points before falling one up in the second round.

Junior Mikayla Smith defeated Western Illinois' Ashley Dumler in the first round, 4-3. In the second round, Smith's face off with IUPUI's Amelie Svejda was halved.

Amy Kucera had a great first day on the links, earning a total of seven points on the day.

The Musketeers finished day one with a total of 8.5 points. Host, Ball State, leads the tournament with 10 points.
