Damien Richard Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

NEW YORK - Senior Damien Richard was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after helping XU to a win over league-leading St. John's last weekend at Hayden Field.
The Versailles, Ohio native logged 6.1 innings and tied a career-high with eight strikeouts en route to a win. The Red Storm came into the game undefeated in BIG EAST action and riding the third-longest winning streak in the nation.
Richard scattered five hits and held St. John's to a .208 batting average in the game, throwing 96 pitches and lowering his season ERA to 3.26 in 47 innings.
Xavier returns to action this weekend for a crucial BIG EAST series at Butler. The Musketeers (4-8 BIG EAST) have just six games remaining on the league schedule and are still alive for a spot in the four-team BIG EAST Championships, which will be held May 24-27 at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio.
