Garrett Wood Continues To Lead Men's Golf In BIG EAST Championships After Day Two

CALLAWASSIE ISLAND, S.C. – Garrett Wood continues to lead Xavier men's golf after day two at the 2018 BIG EAST Championships, finishing his round tied for seventh as XU stands eighth overall as a team at Callawassie Island.
Wood ended the second round two strokes short of a top five finish. The freshman entered the clubhouse shooting a 75, picking up a birdie in the back nine. Wood holds the second-best shooting average on par 5's with a 4.63 (-3) average score.
Martin Jaramillo completed day two in 26th, shooting an 81 on the day. Jaramillo also picked up a birdie on the back nine to improve his scorecard.
Daniel Jaramillo improved three spots after the second round to finish in a three-way tie for 36th in the competition. Jaramillo improved his scorecard by five strokes, shooting a 79 with a birdie on day two.
Eduardo Rivera improved 10 strokes on the second day, carding a 77 and jumping four spots on the leaderboard to 39th overall. The junior has shot an even score on par 3's so far this tournament.
As a team, XU ranks fourth in the field with 102 total pars -- just two behind tournament leading Marquette (104).
