Conor Grammes Named to 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team

CINCINNATI - Sophomore Conor Grammes was named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® First Team on Thursday, earning recognition for his standout play on the diamond and in the classroom.
The McLean, Va. native is a finance major carrying a 3.76 GPA and is also one of the top hitters and relief pitchers for the Musketeers.
As a result of the first team honor, Grammes will appear on the nationwide ballot for Academic All-America which will be announced in June.
To be eligible for Academic All-America and All-District honors, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain at cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a 4.00 scale, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
Grammes leads XU with a .332 batting average over 47 games this season. The infielder/pitcher has also homered eight times to go with a team-leading 22 multi-hit performances.
As a freshman, Grammes was the BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player and helped lead the Musketeers to a second straight NCAA Tournament Regional Final with a .341 batting average in 59 starts.
The 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.
The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2017-18 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.
