Forward joins the Musketeers from Akron, has two years of eligibility remaining
CINCINNATI - Xavier women's soccer head coach Nate Lie announced the addition of a graduate transfer joining the roster for the 2018 season. Raechel Eck joins the Musketeers from Akron and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Eck, a forward originally from Sterling Heights, Mich., is coming off a 2017 season at Akron where she appeared in the six games at the close of the season after returning from injury. During her limited action, Eck tallied the game-winning goal against Miami in MAC play.
Prior to her six appearances in 2017, Eck had been limited by injury for all of 2016 and most of 2015. Eck appeared in one game as a sophomore in 2015, the season opener. She tallied two goals, including the game winner, in a 4-0 win over Bryant before sitting out the rest of the season due to injury.
As a freshman, Eck appeared in 12 games as a reserve for the Zips, totaling 229 minutes, including a season-high 43 against Central Michigan. Eck also tallied her first shot as a Zip in the match against CMU.
Eck joined Akron out of Adlai Stevenson High School where she was a four-year varsity letter winner. She also played club soccer for the Michigan Gators and spent five years in the Michigan Olympic Development Program.
Eck earned a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Akron and will pursue a Masters in Accounting at Xavier. She is the daughter of Jerome and Michelle Eck and has four siblings, Desirae, Joshua, Nathan, Benjamin.
