Student-Athletes Recognized at Xavier Academic Honors Celebration

The event was held at Cintas Center on Friday, May 10
CINCINNATI - Xavier University held its annual Academic Honors Celebration on May 10 at Cintas Center. A total of 13 student-athletes and two athletics department student workers were recognized.
The ceremony recognized outstanding students across the university's four colleges: College of Arts and Sciences, College of Nursing, College of Professional Sciences and the Williams College of Business.

Awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding personal and professional growth.
The John F. Niehaus Award
In memory of John F. Niehaus and awarded to an outstanding student majoring in computer science.
The Business Analytics and Information Systems Award
Granted to an undergraduate excelling in the study of business analytics and information systems.
The Rothwell Award
Awarded to finance majors for outstanding dedication and academic achievement.
The Distinguished Physics Professors' Award
This scholarship, designed to honor Professors John Hart, Raymond Miller and Terrence Toepker, was established through the generosity of many graduates of the Department of Physics. It is awarded to an outstanding major in the physics area.
The Richard J. Wehrmeyer Pi Mu Epsilon Award
In memory of Richard J. Wehrmeyer and presented jointly with the Ohio Theta Chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon to a mathematics major exhibiting excellence in problem-solving.
The Matias G. Vega Spanish Award
In memory of Dr. Matias Vega and presented to students demonstrating the highest linguistic achievement in Spanish and interest in Hispanic culture.
The Comer-Reynolds Award
Awarded to a student outstanding in statistics.
The Excellence in Accounting Award
Awarded to an accounting major in their senior year who has demonstrated excellence in the study of accounting.
The Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key
Awarded to graduating seniors with the highest academic average in the Williams College of Business.
The Lawrence J. Flynn, S.J., Award
Presented to students completing the communications major with the highest academic distinction.
