CINCINNATI - Juniors Ta'Shia Phillips and Amber Harris both posted a double-double Wednesday night as the fifth-ranked Xavier women's basketball team downed visiting Charlotte, 81-61, in the Musketeers regular season home finale. Four Musketeers scored in double figures on the night, led by Harris with a team-high 18.
In addition to her 18 points, Harris also corralled 15 boards. Ta'Shia Phillips pitched in 16 points and 15 rebounds on the night and sophomore Tyeasha Moss added 17. Freshman Katie Rutan was 4-of-7 from behind the arc for 12 points on the night, extending her freshman three-point record to 73.

Charlotte (15-12, 8-5 A-10) trailed by three at the half but battled back to take a two-point lead, 50-48, at the 13-minute mark. Charlotte's last lead of the contest came at 51-50, which was followed by a 6-0 run by the Musketeers to put XU up by five, 56-51. A late 10-0 run put the game out of reach as XU built a comfortable 15-point advantage, 72-57, with just over three minutes to play.
The Musketeers closed out the contest with a 9-2 to push the final margin to 20, 81-61. Following the victory, the team cut down the nets at Cintas Center to celebrate its four consecutive Atlantic 10 Regular Season Championship.
The Niners held the lead in the early going, going up by three points three times before an old-fashioned three-point play by Ta'Shia Phillips knotted the two at nine apiece just over five minutes into the contest. The Musketeers went up by as many as 10, 32-22, with just under seven left in the first frame after back-to-back layups from Harris and Moss. The Niners rallied to cut the lead to one and at the break, XU held onto a slim three-point advantage, 39-36.
The Musketeers close out the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 27 as they travel to Bronx, N.Y., for a matchup with Fordham. Tip is set for 1 p.m. at Rose Hill Gym.
