No. 7/7 Men's Basketball Inches Upwards in Both Major Polls

Musketeers up two spots in AP Poll, one place in USA Today Coaches Poll

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's basketball (6-0) resides in the Top 10 for a second straight week, checking in at No. 7 in both the AP Poll and USA Today Coaches Poll on Monday.

Villanova (2), Xavier (7), Creighton (10) and Butler (18) give the BIG EAST Conference four teams in the AP Top 25.

In the Coaches Poll, Villanova (2), Xavier (7), Creighton (12), Butler (18) represent the league as well.

XU's high water marks in both polls came during the 2015-16 season, as the Musketeers reached No. 5 in the AP Top 25 five times and No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches Poll (Feb. 8).

Following Tuesday night's non-conference matchup against North Dakota State, which is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. tip, XU will travel to No. 9/11 Baylor on Saturday, Dec. 3 for a tough road test. Xavier's following road opponent, Colorado, is also receiving votes in both polls.
