ATLANTA – Xavier's Trevon Bluiett was named to the Naismith College Player of the Year Trophy Midseason List on Thursday. The award, presented annually since 1969, goes to the nation's top college basketball player.
The leading scorer for the 21-3 and No. 5/4 Musketeers, Bluiett averages 15.2 points per game. He also ranks third on the team in rebounds (6.7), as well as assists per game (2.4).
Additionally, Bluiett is a finalist for the Julius Erving Award, presented to the nation's top small forward.
The BIG EAST Conference was well-represented, as Providence's Ben Bentil and Kris Dunn were on the list in addition to Villanova guard Josh Hart.
The top 10 semifinalists will be announced on March 2.
