Volleyball to Team Up with Go4theGoal in the Fight Against Pediatric Cancer

Musketeers pairing up with Go4theGoal this season to “Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer”
CINCINNATI – The Xavier volleyball team is teaming up with Go4theGoal this season to "Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer" to raise awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer. The team will be sporting gold laces in their home opener against Creighton on Friday, Sept. 30.
"Our team is excited to raise money for a cause that not only assists local children, but raises awareness for a disease that affects many families in our area," said head coach Christy Pfeffenberger. "Our hope is that our fans will assist us in raising money, while watching what should be a great matchup against Creighton in our home opener."
The Musketeers have set a goal to raise $1,000 by their home opener against the Bluejays. For those who wish to donate, they can do so online. Xavier will also be taking collections to those fans interested in donating on gameday against Creighton. All of the funds raised will go towards helping kids with cancer and their families in the Cincinnati area.
Go4theGoal was founded in 2006 with the mission to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research, and granting personal wishes. Through their first-hand experience with pediatric cancer, Go4theGoal provides the best practices to patients, their families, and the hospitals and staff that care for them.
