Men's Golfer Daniel Wetterich Qualifies for U.S. Amateur

BIG EAST Freshman of the Year will return to tournament for second straight year
CINCINNATI – Sophomore men's golfer Daniel Wetterich is heading back to the 2016 U.S. Amateur.
Wetterich, the 2016 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, qualified for the event with a two-day score of 143 at Coldstream Country Club on July 18.
The 2016 U.S. Amateur will take place from August 15-21 at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Mich.
Wetterich advanced to the round of 16 in last year's event at Olympia Fields.Â
Last summer, Wetterich qualified for the U.S. Amateur by winning the 106th Tony Blom Metropolitan Amateur Championship. He reached the round of 16 in this year's event at Blue Ash Golf Course after finishing first in stroke play at 6-under.
