Evan Boudreaux enjoyed two great seasons at Dartmouth.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University head coach Chris Mack announced today that he has received a signed scholarship agreement from Evan Boudreaux, a 6-8, 220-pound forward from Lake Forest, Ill., who enjoyed two standout seasons at Dartmouth before sitting out this season to concentrate on academics. Boudreaux is scheduled to graduate from Dartmouth in the spring and will have two years of eligibility at Xavier beginning with the 2018-19 season.
Â
"We are excited to be adding Evan to our roster for next season," said Mack. "There's a lot to like about what Evan brings to the table. He's tough as nails, skilled and rebounds in traffic. Evan comes from a great family and is looking forward to competing closer to home in the BIG EAST. Adding a veteran frontcourt player will help alleviate the losses of Sean O'Mara and Kerem Kanter. Evan will join our program over the summer after graduating from Dartmouth in just three years. Please help me welcome Evan Boudreaux to Xavier!"
Â
Boudreaux, a two-time USBWA All-District I Team member, two-time Team MVP and two-time All-Ivy League Second Team selection, also earned a spot on the NABC All-District 13 Second Team and the Academic All-Ivy Team as a sophomore in the 2016-17 season. Boudreaux led the Ivy League in rebounding as a sophomore at 9.5 rpg., while ranking second in scoring at 17.5 ppg. Boudreax scored in double figures in 26 of 27 games, including 23 points at Boston College. His team-high 15 double-doubles included 14 points and 11 boards at eventual Atlantic-10 champion Rhode Island.
Â
Boudreaux burst onto the scene as a freshman at Dartmouth, earning Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors after finishing second in the league in scoring at 17.7 ppg.
Â
Prior to arriving at Dartmouth, Boudreaux was a four-year starter for Lake Forest High School, graduating among the all-time statistical leaders for the state of Illinois in career field goals (703, ninth), free throws (496, ninth) and rebounds (1,296, seventh). Boudreaux, Lake Forest's all-time leading scorer with 2,076 points, earned First Team All-State honors as a senior, led his team to a regional championship with a 28-3 record while ranking second in the state with a 24.8-point scoring average and first in the state with a 13.6-rebound average.
