Musketeers Prepare for Saturday's Matchup with Florida State

ORLANDO, Fla. - Xavier men's basketball met with the media on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday's NCAA Tournament Second Round matchup with Florida State. The Musketeers held a closed practice at the Amway Center before attending a press conference and answering questions in the locker room with the media.

The No. 11 seed Musketeers (22-13) and the No. 3 seed Seminoles (26-8) will play at 6:10 p.m. The game will be aired nationally on TNT.

Xavier advanced to the second round by defeating No. 6 seed Maryland, 76-65, on Thursday night. Florida State topped No. 14 seed Florida Gulf Coast, 86-80.

TREVON BLUIETT: They're a really good team. Really, really good team. Very athletic. They've got a lot of size, play well together. They like to run up and down, quick-pace type of game, and they're very physical as well.

So I feel like it's going to be a physical game, and we've got to try to contain them as best as possible.

CHRIS MACK: They're really athletic. They're really long. It's just stating the obvious. It's amazing how Leonard Hamilton's teams play very, very hard all the time. I was an assistant at Wake Forest years ago, and that was always a trademark of his teams that they really battled on the defensive end. They made catches tough. They got deflections. They tried to get you out of whatever you were running.

Yesterday was no different, and that's what we're going to have to handle on Saturday if we expect to advance.
