Trevon Bluiett Named First Team All-BIG EAST Conference For Second Straight Year

Musketeers Open BIG EAST Tournament Play On Wednesday
CINCINNATI - Xavier junior guard and All-America candidate Trevon Bluiett has been named First Team All-BIG EAST Conference for a second straight year. Bluiett, who was also on the 2015 BIG EAST All-Freshman Team, is the first Musketeer to earn first or second team honors more than one year.

Bluiett leads Xavier in scoring at 18.0 ppg., which ranks fourth in the BIG EAST, and is second on the team in rebounding at 5.8 rpg., which ranks 10th in the BIG EAST. Bluiett is coming off a double-double at DePaul on Saturday as he led XU to victory with game highs of 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Bluiett also ranks high in the league in minutes played per game (first at 34.5), 3-point field goals made per game (third at 2.6) and free throw percentage (11th at .764).

Bluiett was honored earlier in the day on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in games vs. Marquette and DePaul last week. Bluiett averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Bluiett was honored on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll five times this season in addition to being named BIG EAST Player of the Week twice.
