Kanter Earns A Spot On The BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

CINCINNATI --- Xavier University graduate transfer forward Kerem Kanter earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 18.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in a pair of Xavier wins this past week at Butler and at Creighton. Kanter shot 71.4 percent (15-of-21) from the field for the two games.
Kanter has scored in double figures in five straight games and nine of the last 10 games. He has averaged 14.9 ppg. and 5.4 rpg. over that 10-game stretch, raising his season average to 10.8 ppg. to go with 5.2 rpg.
Xavier, 23-3 overall and in first place at 11-2 in the BIG EAST Conference, today moved up to a school-record No. 4 in the Associated Press Poll and a school-record-tying No. 4 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Xavier, which earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA March Madness Bracket Preview on Sunday, has won eight straight games.
The Musketeers host Seton Hall on Wednesday night at 9 p.m.
