Xavier freshman has earned the award four times this season.
CINCINNATI --- Freshman forward Naji Marshall has been named BIG EAST Conference Freshman of the Week for the second straight week and the fourth time in the past seven weeks. Xavier, 25-4 overall and in first place in the BIG EAST Conference at 13-3, moved up to No. 3 in today's Associated Press Poll.
Marshall contributed a team-high and career-high 21 points on 8-of-10 shooting, including 2-of-3 3-pointers, to go with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in the win at Georgetown on Feb. 21.
Marshall, who has averaged 14.2 ppg. and 6.4 rpg. over the last five games, also won the award on Feb. 19, Jan. 29 and Jan. 15.
Xavier hosts Providence on "Senior Night" on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. With a victory the Musketeers would clinch at least a share of their first BIG EAST regular season title.
