Trevon Bluiett Selected For The College 3-Point Championship In San Antonio

CHICAGO --- Xavier senior All-American Trevon Bluiett has been selected to the 3-Point Championship roster for the 30th annual State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships at Bill Greehey Arena at St. Mary's University in San Antonio on Thursday, March 29, Intersport announced today. Bluiett is one of eight men's college basketball players selected for the event that will air live on ESPN2 at 9 p.m. ET. He was invited to take part in the 3-Point Championship after being recognized as one of the nation's finest shooters from 3-point territory.

Bluiett, who was named 2018 Second Team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the USBWA (United States Basketball Writers Association), Sporting News, USA Today, NBC Sports and NCAA.com, holds the Xavier career record (319) and single season record (105 in 2017-18) for 3-point field goals made. In addition, he shares the single-game 3-point field goal record with nine in a game at Cincinnati his junior year and hit eight more in win over Seton Hall this past season. Bluiett, who was is sixth in the BIG EAST in scoring at 19.3 ppg. and third in 3-point field goals per game at 3.0, scored 2,261 points in his four-year career, which ranks second on XU's all-time scoring list. His 762 career rebounds rank 11th in Xavier history. Blueitt is one of only 13 players in BIG EAST Conference history to earn BIG EAST First Team honors three times.

Intersport, producers of the event, invites 24 of the nation's elite men's and women's college basketball players to compete in the State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships (eight dunkers, along with eight men's and eight women's shooters). The program showcases the dunking and sharp-shooting talents of the nation's top college basketball players during the Great Clips Men's 3-Point Shooting Championship, the Marine's Women's 3-Point Shooting Championship, the Samsung Battle of the Champions, the Dunkin' Donuts Slam Dunk Championship and the Applebee's Team Shootout. A complete roster of participants will be released at a later date.
