Season ticket renewal deadline is Friday.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University Athletics announced the 2018-19 men's basketball non-conference schedule.
Xavier smashed its all-time attendance records last season, selling out every home game and averaging the nation's third-best capacity rate for arenas with at least 10,000 capacity at 102 percent. There's good news for Xavier fans that can't wait for the new season. Opening Night this season is the earliest in school history as the Musketeers host IUPUI on Tuesday, Nov. 6 in the inaugural game under first-year head coach Travis Steele.
Xavier's eight-game home regular season non-conference schedule includes some familiar faces, headlined by the Nov. 13 clash with Wisconsin as part of the Gavitt Tipoff Games. Xavier renews its local rivalry with Miami (Ohio) on Nov. 28 in addition to taking on Ohio on Dec. 5. Two former conference rivals will visit Cintas Center, including Evansville on Nov. 10 and Detroit Mercy on Dec. 21. Oakland on Dec. 1 and Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 15 round out the list of non-conference home opponents.
The road portion of the non-conference slate includes two tough tests against 2018 NCAA Tournament teams, the annual Skyline Chili Crosstown Shootout at Cincinnati on Dec. 8 and a Dec. 18 game at Missouri.
Times and television coverage for these regular season games will be announced at a later date. The lone public exhibition game will be played on Thursday, Nov. 1.
Xavier travels to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational for games Nov. 19-21 against a field that includes Duke, Arizona, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Auburn, Illinois and Iowa State. The eight teams in the field averaged 24.0 wins last season and six of them made the NCAA Tournament: Xavier, Duke, Arizona, Gonzaga, San Diego State and Auburn. The Maui Invitational bracket will be announced this summer.
Season ticket renewals end this Friday, May 18. The Xavier Athletic Ticket Office is currently accepting $100 deposits for new season ticket accounts. Fans can call the ticket office at 513-745-3411.
